Milestones

Save the Children has been active in Switzerland since 2006. The organisation has developed continually since then.

2015

Save the Children became an accredited partner of Swiss Solidarity. This allows us to do even more to help children in humanitarian crisis situations in the future.

2014

At the annual international congress for members of Save the Children, Save the Children Switzerland was accepted as the 29th full member. With its full membership, Save the Children Switzerland can play an active role in developing the strategy of the international network.

2013

The team at Save the Children Switzerland grows to include fourteen people as of October 2013. The headquarters moves to new offices in Zurich West.

2012

Save the Children Switzerland receives the Zewo seal of approval, which guarantees the targeted, efficient and effective use of donations.

2011

Save the Children welcomes its 15,000th Child Guardian. More and more Swiss people are working with Save the Children for children in Switzerland and around the world. Projects are supported in Nicaragua, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Haiti, Ivory Coast, Ethiopia and DR Congo.

2008

Donations exceed CHF 5 million. Projects are fully or partially funded in Brazil, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, DR Congo, Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

2006

Save the Children Switzerland is established.
