Save the Children rescue vessel back in the Mediterranean

Save the Children’s rescue vessel, Vos Hestia, has left the port of Valetta in Malta for further rescue operations.

The Vos Hestia has taken position outside the 50-nautical-mile search-and-rescue zone declared by Libyan authorities, in order to stand ready to rescue refugees. Operations are coordinated with the Italian Coast Guard as previously. The security situation will be assessed regularly.
